Not to mention numb the inside of your mouth! Haha. Everclear soaked fruit is extremely boozy.
My wife's parents used to get home made sloe gin from one of their friends. They would give me a bottle. I like the stuff. My wife has banned me from sloe gin because I get soooo stupid (obnoxious).

Sadly. It wasn't. She did it again about 5am.
The usual. American girl meets British guy. They fall into like, then into love. Then there was the big decision. The American traveled across the pond to join the Brit. And life was never the same again.

I hate waiting on the NHS. I've got some gastro issues going on... I've diagnosed myself with gallbladder disease. I've had 2 pain attacks in the last month and I've been dealing with the swelling and bloating for a year now plus heartburn.

Today I swelled up so badly I had to buy new pants on my lunch break.

I'm swollen from my breast bone down to my feet, bloated, rock solid belly, terrible wind coming out both sides (such a relief though) and the lymph nodes in my neck are swollen too.

These are my legs and feet. You can see where my sock was. My legs are normally super skinny.

I'm tired of dealing with this already.

I've been to see my GP. He put in a referral for a gastroenterologist. Now I'm waiting.

How are you feeling, otherwise?  What's your temperature?  If I saw that level of swelling in my patient, with such rapid onset, along with swollen lymph nodes, I would be looking for sepsis.

If it was sepsis, I would have been dead over a year ago.

I get this swelling along with the stomach bloating. When I bloat in my stomach, my legs swell and my lymph nodes do too.

It may last a couple of days or a couple of months. Usually a few weeks though.

Oooh, okay.  I thought it was a new thing and that it only just happened today.  Have you reported these symptoms to your GP before today?

I saw him 2 weeks ago for the referral.  A month ago I saw him for my bloods... so a month ago.

My plastic surgeon in North Carolina originally thought it was a rare complication from my skin removal surgery but it should have resolved by now plus it's getting worse with heartburn and the pain attacks.

My first pain attack happened at work and I thought it was a heart attack. I went to my pharmacist (I work at Boots) and actually asked her to help me because I thought it was a heart attack.

The pain was starting between my shoulder blades and radiated down my right arm to my side and it hurt to breathe. She assured me it wasn't a heart attack and it went away within a  half an hour.

My 2nd pain attack was similar but not as intense.

When my mother's gallbladder was full of stones, she didn't have that type of pain, but her surgeon told her that many patients do.  It is very commonly mistaken for heart attack!

It sounds like you might be right, given you have other symptoms consistent with it.  Have you been able to identify trigger foods and avoid them, to try to relieve your symptoms until your referral comes through?  My mother learned to avoid too much roughage, and high-fat foods.

I feel most sorry for my husband. We live in the smallest flat in Scotland and I nearly sent him into a panic attack during what is now known as "the fart that defeated the English at Stirling Bridge".

He didn't know where to go. There was no escape. In his panic, he took his pants off.

I died laughing and was like , "WTF are you doing?" He said he didn't know what else to do.

hahaha!  That must've been some cloud!  I can't even imagine... how did he think that was going to help?!

Oh Tami, you made me laugh!

Yeah, my mom called 911 when my dad had his gallbladder attack because they thought he was having a heart attack.  Thankfully it was *just* the gallbladder!
