This is the first time in just over a year that I can 100% confirm that our food has been eaten by someone else (by FIL or grand-FIL who we're living with or by SIL who comes over at least two days a week with her kids).

I suspect SIL was using our tins of baked beans for the kids (we buy Sainsbury's own brand, FIL gets Heinz and the labels are both blue/green), but I can't 100% confirm that.

I've also noticed my peanut butter finish sooner than I expected, but that could just be me being greedier than I think. ;)

Occasionally, grand-FIL will eat some of our fruit, but DH has told him he's welcome to. When I buy avocado or mango for homemade sushi, I hide it to be sure it's not eaten by someone else. I might come across a bit selfish right now because I've got a tea towel covering our fruit bowl, but it's to protect from the flies, not from grand-FIL.

I will start labelling our foods, especially when they're for a recipe.
It's frustrating that people are so disrespectful but I definitely have experienced the many who just think if a food item is available it's free to use, regardless of its novelty or expense.

Hopefully they will stop it if you label it!

I'm kinda annoyed with the amount of bread my husband eats. We both work from home right now, and if we get a loaf he will eat as much toast as he can have in a day. Gluten free bread is full of crap, it's not healthy, and it's expensive. And when he uses it, it's less than healthy because he covers it in sugary things like lemon curd. I'd be a lot happier buying expensive wheat artisan bread because then it actually has nutrients. He doesn't want to learn about managing cross contamination. I always kept my home GF cuz I just had "my things" and I didn't want to accidentally get sick not realising someone had used something and it didn't get clean enough. But we live together now, and may have kids who can eat wheat at some point in the future, so it's time to learn. But there was literally no reason for him to be so lazy as to eat 2/3 of a loaf again today. (he also stinks at slicing) *le sigh*

We had screens on every window in Croatia too.  Seriously, it must just be the UK that likes bugs....

My husband is the one who is convinced there are no bugs in our house...he needs to go to spec savers!

Wow. Really?? Like, my husband does all the spider killing for me and our cat takes care of most of the rest... But umm... Bugs are definitely a thing when there are no screens!

Honestly, he's delusional sometimes! He can kill loads of spiders for me or watch me shoo a fly back out a window, yet I say "I don't want the door open while I'm trying to eat dinner. if F wants to come inside she'll bark! I'm really not interested in bugs all over the place while I'm eating!" and he responds with "What bugs?! There aren't any bugs!" ....umm...excuse me?! Sometimes I feel like I need to have him sectioned because he's a bit mental.

Haha wow.

Men can be funny. My husband forgot our car is diesel this week! It's good he doesn't have his license yet so he can't be responsible for filling the tank alone.

Bugs. Eck.

Ok, so about midges. I am seeing news that says that voracious packs of midges are terrorizing Argyll and the Highlands.

So, is this common? And it makes it unpleasant to be out in those locations from May-September? And if so, ... window screens????????

So glad I'm not the only one dealing with the struggle of a person in denial about bugs!

Hope everybody gets well soon!

I hate bugs. I haaaaaate having no screens. We live in a very well insulated house- it’s nice in winter but too hot in summer. My husband doesn’t like the windows open because bugs fly in. If we don’t have them open, the house is boiling. Despite all this, he thinks that screens on windows are weird and won’t have them !  ??? :o We do have a fan, but still. It’s a total catch 22 system at our house.

Also, my aunt posts way too much on social media. Literally, all her posts are shares about some anti-Trump article or another. They never seem to come from very legit sources either. We’re talking several a day. I’m not exactly a Trump supporter (I’m pretty apolitical), but man, give it a rest.

Next house I’m paying for screens and hubby can suck it up lol. I will only open three windows in the house because a hall one, the kitchen and the bathroom. Forget about the rest. And OH and daughter love to leave the front door open like HELLO! Bugs and random people outside
