I've got to take my daughter for surgery on her ingrown toenail this afternoon.  The last surgery was done on the NHS and it looks like it has come back, this time we are going private.  Poor girl has undergone lots of anaesthesia free "exploratory" nail cutting sessions where she's been cut really badly, and had one guy spill acid on her foot.  She's really a trooper.

Oh gosh, those are the worst :( give her my sympathy, I hope this visit is less painful!

Lit a candle for luck for her! When your feet hurt, nothing is right. I hope they get it sorted out once and for all for her.

Back now, all was okay except for 4 really painful shots with a SUPER long needle DEEP into her toe.

Bedrest for one day, no trapezing over the weekend.

That sounds like a pretty reasonable care plan! Once the shots are over at least it gets better. Hopefully this is the last time she has trouble. :)

My IA for today... Sugar free gummies. I really missed my organic gummy bears I'd buy in the states (not vegan, or healthy, but a tasty treat) so I decided to give the FreeFromFellows gummies a go. They have maltitol and who knows what else in apparently large quantities, and sometimes I'm fine with sugar alcohols but not this time. Anyone familiar with them can understand why this is an IA.   Anyone know where I can find gummy bears with regular old gelatin and sugar and no artificial flavors over here? I tried Google/amazon without much luck. May have to get molds and make my own or deal with the sorta similar fruit gums.

Black Forest came up when I had a look, was that your US brand? You can get them on ebay but hugely expensive to ship.

Yep it was black forest. But I'm not into paying huge amounts of money to ship something that cheap! There was also Project 7 organic and Yum Earth, but those cost more and didn't taste as good. I'm at the point I either find acceptable replacements or figure out how to make my own. :)

A friend of mine had her gall bladder removed because of sugar free gummy bears. She went to the hospital in extreme pain. The doctor thought it was a gall bladder attack.  She had emergency surgery. It only emerged later on when she ate them again what the real problem was.

But you can buy molds, gelatin and make your own. Tons of people do. They are supposed to be dead easy to make.

I bought Haribo gold bears here when I felt the need for gummies but they seem to have a lot of artificial colours which I presume are not safe for you?

I've made "gummies" but never with the exact right texture. I'll have to try a few more recipes :)

The gas pain is so real! I felt bad, I literally couldn't stop tooting yesterday. But I already have no gallbladder and can see how that pain could be mistaken!

And yeah, haribo made me sick when I tried em :(

I didn't think haribo was allowed to use dye in the EU?
The usual. American girl meets British guy. They fall into like, then into love. Then there was the big decision. The American traveled across the pond to join the Brit. And life was never the same again.
