Oh, goodness you're right....
Funny story: I was with my husband and his siblings (who are all younger than us) and I said something offhand about my pants being looser due to the cold weather and they ALL snickered...!

haha we've all done it (at least I know I definitely have...one of the first times meeting one set of in-laws LOL)
My, how time flies....

Not sure.  It just doesn't 'feel' right.  It's the same make/model, just 2 years newer... i'm probably being ridiculous.

I think it just takes a week or so to adjust. Even the same make/model is still a different car. Once the seats and mirrors are adjusted and you've been in it for a week or so,  it'll probably feel more right than it does just now.

On top of everything else, now I have to find an emergency dentist tomorrow :( ugh, and ow. Novacaine doesn't work on me so I have an extreme fear of them.

I know there's one in/next to Crowthorne (not sure the name of it sorry!) that is especially good for people that have anxiety over the dentist. Obviously that won't help the Novacaine situation but might help with overall attitude towards your fear (which is totally reasonable).

I managed to get an appointment at the one 2 minutes from my house that has good reviews, but if this goes badly I'll try to find out which office that is!

So what DO they do for people for whom the usual numbing shots don't work, here? In the States I had to have like double the shots to get any relief at all. I am not anticipating needing any work (who ever anticipates emergency dental work, though?) but am curious.  I've pretty much worked through the worst of my extreme fear of dentists (traumatic childhood dental visit) but it's still kind of Lamaze dentistry with me. They have to tell me to relax, and breathe....

Sure hope this goes well for you, Margo!

I think it's just a bit discouraging since I lost all that weight and I'll be in the same "number" size I was in here  [smiley=bigcry.gif]

Usually two sizes up.  So if you are a USA size 8, you'll be a 12 here.  But it's just a number.

Your feet will be smaller.  ;D   I'm a US size 7 and now a UK size 4 or an EU 37.5.

Definitely stock up on jeans!  I was perusing Old Navy's website yesterday and considering paying £50 to have a pair of jeans sent here.  ::)

I can never remember if it's the one right by Morgan Rec (on the high street) or one closer to Sandhurst. If your appointment doesn't go well and you want to know which one this is, let me know and I can try to do some digging as I know people that have used it, I've just been too chicken sh*t to do it myself lol

Dunno what they do here but I can tell you that in the US my fear of medical needles meant I opted to NOT have the Novocaine once...it wasn't the worst but it wasn't the most pleasant thing I could've been doing that day.

Definitely stock up on jeans!  I was perusing Old Navy's website yesterday and considering paying £50 to have a pair of jeans sent here.  ::)

If you place an Old Navy order, let me know.  I'd like to consolidate shipping with you.  I neeeeeed new jeans!

Picked up my new car last night, and 24 hours later, I am realising that I prefer my old car.  :\\\'(

My last car in the US... I went in having researched what I wanted and preferred colour and everything.  And they had exactly what I wanted, with all the right options and nothing extra, parked right outside.  I had pre-approved financing, and knew how much I was willing to pay and what my payments would work out to.  So it was down to a test drive and negotiating.  Test drive went well (I put it in first, eased off the clutch, and it was smooth like butter... I'd driven less than ten feet when I blurted out, "I'm sold!"  I mean, we actually left the parking lot and I had a proper drive, but it was unnecessary.  The car was perfect.)

So we get back to the dealership and we go in and start talking numbers... the hours pass.  Finally, finally, the car is mine and I'm walking out of there at 10pm.

I get into my new, perfect-in-every-way car and start it up.  I find the lights and turn them on.  The instrument panel lights up... in overwhelming bright bright amber!  I had instant regret.  Over such a stupid little thing.

But then I found the dimmer for the instrument panel lights and toned it down a bit.  It only took a few days for me to get used to it.  And then my love affair with my car started to set in.

I had to leave Minizoom behind when I moved to the UK, and I had dreams about her being with me similar to the dreams I had about my dad right after he died... in fact, some of my dreams had Minizoom and my dad in them.  It was a very difficult time in my life.

All of that to say, I hope you learn to love your new car, but it's okay to remember your old car.  They're all special.

I still have the ignition key to the first car I ever called my own... from like 1971. ;)

You never forget a car, really.

Oh, I completely understand because that's so important, it's staring you in the face! I pretty much bought my car here because the instrument panel lights up blue, it's sooo pretty!   :D

I don't know what I had expected when I was buying Minizoom all those years ago, but the amber was a shock.  And I had an hour's drive home with it glaring at me.  I loved everything else, but it was soooo hard to accept that amber at first.  I resented her!  I mean, part of that was the realization that I'd just bought a car on credit and would have car payments for a number of years, too.  But mostly, it was the amber panel.  :P

Colour is so important in life, isn't it? It can totally affect mood one way or the other!  :)

Well that sucks... £70 for an emergency appointment where they take an xray and tell you that you'll have to come back later. First appointment available is in 3 weeks! I apparently cracked my tooth under a filling, but not in a spot that shows up on the xray. Praying someone cancels and I can get in sooner :(

Sorry Margo. That's not much of an emergency service.  :-\\\\

Have you tried your regular dentist?  If in severe pain, mine will get patients in same day.
