Sorry Margo. That's not much of an emergency service.  :-\\\\

Have you tried your regular dentist?  If in severe pain, mine will get patients in same day.
I didn't have one yet... My fault for not trying to find one. I registered with this practice so I'm hoping they get a cancellation. I guess cuz of the school break things are madness there right now :(

haha we've all done it (at least I know I definitely have...one of the first times meeting one set of in-laws LOL)
When I had first moved to the UK, maybe 3 weeks in, I met one of my girlfriends at the pub. She complimented me on my outfit and I proclaimed “just bought these pants yesterday, aren’t they nice?” to which the man sitting the other side of us replied, “give us a look then and I’ll tell you if they’re nice” and my friend and bar staff started laughing. Took me a minute but eventually I got it!

I think someone in the immediate area around me got a peacock or peahen... Something was screaming since 3.30am. it did not sound in pain and it wasn't constant. Sounded like a call. I really wanted to sleep. 🙄😵😫
The usual. American girl meets British guy. They fall into like, then into love. Then there was the big decision. The American traveled across the pond to join the Brit. And life was never the same again.

EXACTLY what I was going to say!

They never STFU around where I live! Before I knew what it was, it sounded like a child outside just screaming for no apparent reason at like 11pm. I was thinking WHY WON'T SOMEBODY CALL THEIR CHILD IN!?!?  Turns out, it was foxes in heat.

Yep, I thought there was a domestic disturbance going on the first time I was exposed to the wonderful fox call. There are fewer by me now than there were in London!

That's shocking that there were more in London than here (especially with how close you are to South Hill Park). Maybe they're all over by me as we have the woods and mental patients! hahah

They didn't sound to me like a domestic or somebody in pain per se, but definitely like some child just deciding to shout for no apparent reason.

The fox noises TOTALLY reminds me of a peacock.  So wouldn't surprise me.

People used to call 911 thinking someone was being beaten when it was actually peacocks (when I was for a police dept in Florida).

It can even sound a bit like someone calling "help"!

Our landlord is coming over for an inspection tonight, I don't know what they inspect but I assume it has to do with fire safety and just generally not destroying a flat?

My husband is freaking out and cleaning everything, after months of not doing nearly enough regular cleaning. But this means he broke the heavy guns, the chemicals that make me really sick, without even talking to me about it or trying any of the alternatives I have (like barkeepers friend). I had a lot I needed to do today, and it'll probably be 3 days before I can even go in the shower.

Oh that is dreadful Margo and really a bit disrespectful, IMHO, because he knows you have mega allergy issues.
