Our car is a continual source of disappointment and irritation. :( We took a loan out a while ago (simply to pay off the credit cards more quickly) and nearly got a bigger one in order to buy a car. But we decided that it wasn't worth it, and we could save money by simply fixing up this one.

Wrong.

We have spent thousands on it since that decision, and having replaced almost EVERYTHING inside it, it has somehow managed to break down again. The check engine light came on last night and it is shuddering and just feels like it is about to fall apart.  >:( Dunno when we can get it in to get fixed, or how much it might cost. But we are very stressed out...

Laundry.  Its annoying. And inconvenient.  And I hate it, especially with mud.
Some days I think my life is just one meaningless domestic task after another.  Sigh.

PL - Sorry about your car. Our previous one was like that...complete money pit. Thankfully this one has been MUCH better. It'll be for sale in a few weeks if you're interested  ;)

My IA - DH has to work on our anniversary  :-\\\\

Thanks guys.  :-* It is such a pain. Poor V was just so depressed yesterday when he went down to have a look at it. It doesn't make as much a difference to me, but it means taking time out of work to take it in, and it also means getting the train to work (a longer journey) in the meantime.

Yes, because you are America bound! Yay! If I thought we could afford it I would take you up on that offer, Weby. ;)

Sorry to hear about your car troubles PL.  We've been having issues with ours as well.  No fun.

My IA: Our balance for the electricity is outrageous.  Shocking, really.  Don't know how we're going to manage.  I hate money and I really need someone to give me a job.  :-\\\\  This is after paying a a bunch of money into the car and paying a bunch of money to fix the council tax screw up.  2011 is sucking it up big time so far.  :(

Yes!  This!!

Also, to my DH, I know you're trying to help when you "soak" your dishes and don't tell me.  It's not a pleasant surprise to come into the kitchen and be greeted with a washbasin filled with cold dirty water and a few dishes that are also still dirty.  That is not helping me!

Ah yeah :). When we get ready to put it up for sale I'll post a classifieds here on UKY. We're only going to ask £1600 for it just so we can get rid of it quickly.

I hope you get yours sorted soon with little cost.

Jet lag. Haven't been sleeping as much as I'd like (especially as I have nowhere to go in the morning, so I can sleep in), and I'm dragging.

Had grand plans of taking advantage of warm weather and/or the treadmill downstairs for my runs, and I have yet to do squat. :(

As usual, my constant IA, too much to do and not enough time to do it.
When I was 5 years old, my mother always told me that happiness was the key to life. When I went to school, they asked me what I wanted to be when I grew up. I wrote down ‘happy’. They told me I didn’t understand the assignment, and I told them they didn’t understand life. ~ John Lennon

I'm trying to plan a trip to Japan this summer and was seeing if I could book a multiple destinations trip. I would fly from London land in Tokyo then later depart from Tokyo then fly to DFW. The problem is that BA thinks it's a good idea for me to fly from Tokyo to DFW via London?!?!  ??? Ah...wouldn't flying over the pacific ocean be quicker and less ridiculous than flying all the way back to London just so I can go stateside? I have flown to Tokyo to DFW direct and it only took 13-14 hours, versus the expected 26 hours it would take for me to go to DFW from Tokyo via London.

Yeah...that's not happening if I can manage it... even though it is cheaper to fly with BA.

A couple friends on Facebook were just talking about king cake & Mardi Gras in the last few days - so I got all excited thinking that tomorrow is Pancake Day!!  Only to find out it's still nearly a month away.  :P

Everyone is having a go at me this morning for things that are sooooooooo not my fault- or actually having anything to do with me at all. But somehow my name was implicated in the matter and I keep getting phone calls every 20 minutes from a different person ready to chew me out!  :-X >:(
