Oooo, the plot has thickened.  Glad you had the conversation with your sister.

What DO you want to do for your 30th?   :D

My 40th will be here in 2 years (  :o )  I need to start thinking of what I want to do.

One thing I've always wanted to do is have a champagne party.  I want to get ALLLL the champagne's:  Cristal, Dom, Bollinger, Vuvue, Moet & Chandon, all the way down to Asda (which won a serious award this year) and Aldi.  And do a blind taste testing and find my favourite.  And drink all the many bottles of champagne.  I feel it would be a lot of fun.  Would NOT be cheap though.  My husband is a stick in the mud and thinks it's a dumb idea.  But then does the "but if that's what you want to do."   ::)

Yeah I was like ...UHHH......pardon? Definitely wires getting crossed somewhere!

Well there are MANY things I'd really enjoy! I'd enjoy going to a lovely all inclusive somewhere. I'd love to stay in a luxurious accomodation like those fancy hotels in Santorini where they have the hot tub/pool bits literally connected to the rooms and you have a gorgeous view that you can swim out to from your room OR one of those huts in the Maldives where you're literally ABOVE the ocean.

I can't afford any of the things I *want* to do the most for my birthday if given a choice, but then I also probably won't really treat my 30th any different than any other birthday where I don't really like to make a big deal of it.

OHH! My SIL posted something the other day about a prosecco party in Windsor (it's some big event you can buy tickets for). Not quite champagne but close enough and we could have a meetup there without it being your birthday! :)

You two should take a trip to France to the champagne region and have proper champagne for your 40th! :)

Excellent holiday ideas.  But yeah, pricey.  DO A SAFARI!  That's the best holiday I've done to date - without question.

Totally looking up the prosecco party.

Champagne region - been there, done that.  ;)  I get around.  :P

I do also want to do a Safari for sure. My husband has been to South Africa before (he had family there) and had done it so it's sort of fallen lower on the list than locations neither of us has done - unfortunately).

Can't remember the name of it, just saw it in passing!

That is the best 40th birthday party I've heard of! Your husband needs more creativity in his life. (I feel like he would get along with mine quite well!)

My 40th has already come and gone, but I really really wanted to hold a Bob Ross party.  Set up a bunch of easels, have stacks of blank canvas, palettes, brushes, paints, thinner, etc., and then put the entire Bob Ross collection on.  This was before Twitch did the Bob Ross marathon and then it was made available on demand on one of the streaming services (Netflix?), so I was in before it was cool.

Obviously, booze would be involved.

The real question is if you'd put on the afro wig..?

I kind of think it would have to happen.  It's not a mistake... just a happy little accident.

Yes!!! I used to do this with my friends (minus the actual paint supplies, plus the booze).

We called the "The Joy of Drinking." Highly recommend!

If we start planning now (and sourcing supplies), this could be Blizzard 2019...
