If the leaves are on the grass, it can be easier just to run the mower over the area.  :)

That was my husband's thought process lol

My, how time flies....

* Married in the US and applied for first spousal visa August 2013
* Moved to the UK on said visa October 2013
* FLR(M) applied for  May 2016. Biometrics requested June 2016. Approval given July 2016.
* ILR applied for January 2019 (using priority processing). Approved February 2019.
* Citizenship applied for May  2019
* Citizenship approved on July 4th 2019
* Ceremony conducted on August 28th 2019

We had a blower vacuum but it blew last year.  My husband is in charge of picking a new one....

He is also in charge of selecting a vent hood for the stove.  We’ve officially hit three years with no vent in the kitchen....  ::)

I pull up amazon and point at what I want. My husband is great at following through when it's on   his screen. ;)

Every day I get LinkedIn messages telling me I'd be a perfect fit for contract roles. Travel 5 days a week, nothing remote. How do you find a job when you can't travel in this country? Apparently with SAS as your skill set no one wants to hire you full time, they only want contractors. *pulls out hair*

Oh man...the LinkedIn messages drive me up a wall. I get loads of messages telling me how I'm perfect for a role but it will literally be something I'm not qualified to do or doesn't match my CV at all! I think the majority of those recruiters aren't actually looking at your requirements, they just take any key words you have in your CV/profile and try to spin it in a way that makes it sound as excellent as possible.

Oh, these are actually a fit for what I do. And matches what I'm finding in searches while trying to find anything to apply for. It seems very few full time and a million contract opportunities atm, which has no allowances for "reasonable adjustments". :( Wishing I had a slightly different skill set.

Yeah it's the same in the project field as well with the full-time vs contract work. Not sure if it's just the way the job market is at the moment overall perhaps?

Could you look at maybe re-skilling to something that will work *with* your current set of hard skills?

How? I have no income for a formal education and they don't believe in any other sets of skills here. I can't just go do retail work to get by until I find something relevant. I can't even find data entry that can be done remotely. Sorry for being completely dejected. I posted here because it's the IA thread and that is my huge annoyance right now. (and I still cant eat solid food so I'm a lot short on patience and good will that everything will work out)

There's no need to apologise, this is exactly the right place to post these types of issues. Sending hugs.
