That's where I saw it. Just a crawler on Sky.

Apparently it's over. A mini-bomb or something, in the mailroom. Daughter is still out, but I'm sure she'll fill me in when she gets home.
Maybe the same source as the three found yesterday, one near us. With all our political strife at the moment, we don’t need this!

Glad to hear your daughter is OK Nan, we just had some mail  bombs down here as well.

I saw some reference regarding them online as being coming from Ireland. Can't be the IRA, or they would have been professionally done and would not have been "discovered" - they'd have gone off.  Wonder if it's: 1) someone wanting to remind people of the IRA; 2) anarchists; 3) deranged nationalists, or,  4) some mentally-ill adolescent to mid-20s man who lives in his mama's basement who is getting his jollys by all this?

Daughter is walking in, will find out what she knows....

EDIT:  Nope, that wasn't the Daughter. Upstairs neighbor kid trying his key in the wrong lock again. He's never going to make it to 21 by pickling his liver that much, every day!  Apparently all the woo is over over at the Uni, but still not getting a lot of real news other than they think it was similar to the ones from down south. Assuming what they are saying on the news is actually correct. It has a way of not being correct, here....  ::)

Because Excel is the proper tool for making invoices!

The infuriating thing is if they'd done it correctly it would actually be helpful. They've built it so it calculates the subtotals, adds a percentage for holiday pay, and calculates the total, so yay! I don't have to do math!

It's on the little details - Hey, guys, we're an international company. What date format do we use on this invoice template? - where they've dropped the ball in an annoying way.

The baby, with pneumonia, who has been doing great, has caught a D&V bug that’s going around nursery.  When will this baby - and us parents - catch a break?  Just hoping it passes super fast and doesn’t dehydrate him and out him back in the hospital.

Also hoping it doesn’t take anyone else out...

What a rough time for you all! I hope he gets over it quickly.

I car share with a chap from work who is maybe 5 or 6 years younger than me (I am 33). It's about an hour's drive each way and we have been doing this for over a year without much issue.

He recently got a VW Golf, a considerable mark up from his previous car, and there has been a stepped change in his driving. I am no stranger to driving critique as a former IAM observer. I feel that he is attempting to test just how much the car can take with me in it...

Today we had very excessively high speeds on small back roads in very heavy rain with absolutely no room for increased braking time, aquaplaning, decreased visual, audible and general situational awareness or other vehicles/people.  Really, it felt wreckless and I am not a nervous traveller or driver at all.

I am thinking it might be about time to call quits on car sharing. Frankly, I am not prepared to pay for it with my life. It's such a shame because it was the perfect arrangement previously and there were no such driving issues.

That's tough.  I used to commute from Orlando to Melbourne (Florida) in a van with people.  And we took turns driving the van.  Some people were better than others to say the least.  So I get it!

You are right to be concerned, most people can't drive like they see on Top Gear.  And the most common way to find that boundry is to wreck.  I've certainly done it.

Maybe he's just showing off his new car and will stop soon?  Maybe you could jokingly say something like "Where's the fire mate?  I'd like to get to work in one piece!"

He's doing great!  Hasn't been sick any more and is eating like a fool.  Fingers crossed..  We do NOT want him to end up back in the hospital!!!!!!

Yep, exactly that. It's like being in the car with a boy racer just without the "banging tunes".

I spoke to my boss about it today for some advice.  He advised me to have a polite word. I think I am going to take the "where's the fire" line as suggested!

Cheers all.

I went to the med centre about my stubbed toe this morning - doesn’t appear to be broken as I can move and bend it and the doctor couldn’t feel any extra movement (I.e anything fractured). Just seems to be a torn ligament, which has caused the bruising.

Is there any benefit to immobilizing it to aid the healing?  Can it be immobilized?  I'm guessing it'd be tricky, since you have to flex your feet to walk properly.
