I don’t like that they lock automatically from outside either!

^This!  This, this, this!

(totally speaking as someone who hasn't been locked out of the flat due the door locking automatically after being blown shut of course...  ;) I was only taking out the food bin!!  And then I had to Mission Impossible myself over the garden fence in the back to try and get back in the flat through the back patio door which had been propped open)

Yesterday, I was just finishing up changing after my swim when I heard a lady asking where the showers are.  She was loudly complaining that the women’s showers had no hot water and pushing her young daughter to go in and take a shower.

This wasn’t some unisex changing room, this is a big square room where everyone walks around naked, like a big sausage party.

I tried to tell her not to come in, but she just didn’t care and came marching in like it was nothing!  Luckily, no one was naked, although I am not certain about the showers.

I went to the reception and told them a mad woman was running around.

This pool is full of nutters!  Every time I go there, some crazy entitled rich person does something unbelievable.

Reminds me of Waitrose car park. One of the primary reasons I don't shop there!

I know what you mean, the Waitrose car park can be a sausage party as well.

Getting glutened.

Every now and again I doubt myself, that maybe, just maybe, I can actually eat wheat because I stopped eating it before having a biopsy to confirm celiac, and wouldn't go back to eating it long enough to have one (the blood test was negative but I tried the GF diet as a test if I felt better, and I did.) And then the server in training at the restaurant tells you something you ate safely many times in the US is fine instead of giving you the allergy menu, and you get glutened. Oof. Definitely still can't eat wheat. :( Migraine + grumbling ouchy tummy.

Going on week nine of being sick. Tired of being brushed off that it’s just viral... I’ve had antibiotics ( which helped a ton) chest X-rays, mucus samples, but I’m fine. It’s apparently viral smh

It'll be at least another week before I feel better :( this was bad! And the restaurant forced us to pay a service charge, and I don't remember being notified of it anywhere before receiving the bill so that just added to the frustration!

That must be SO frustrating! Hoping this finally clears up for you soon! 9 weeks is a long time for ANYTHING, especially being ill!

Not really an IA but just wanted to just make a quick vent so I could feel better, and this seemed like the best place to do it...

Think I've just hit a point at work where I've been so stressed that I don't even care anymore and I'm mentally checked out. Like I just felt I was fighting an uphill battle in regards to salary vs responsibility (underpaid and overworked). I'll easily work 5-10 hours outside working hours (which I don't get paid for) jut to keep wheels turning in addition to stepping up to help out on internal initiatives and I'm not sure it's even appreciated. Even moving a step up internally (which they tell me I still need more experience in ONE area that they could teach me easily and I already have some experience in between this role and my last - governance) would only result in a 10% payrise to basically do the same job if not a slight bit extra responsibility. What bothers me most is that they'd rather hire somebody externally who can't prove they have all the skills you can't teach with a much better salary but I'm "not quite ready yet, I need a few more months on a new project" to get a 10% payrise.

I just am past the point of giving a sh*t.... I feel like taking my time to get issues resolved now vs responding immediately to problems and I honestly just can't be bothered. This role has totally had an impact on my mental health and has made me question if this is even the career path I want because of the stress. I spent a lot of the weekend applying for other jobs and I just feel like I've mentally checked out of my current job and have moved on to "I cannot wait to land a new job and start fresh!".

Thanks Larrabee :)

I'm lucky that I'm not in a position where I HAVE to move jobs and with our move to Newbury, I will now definitely be considered more "senior" (which means even more responsibility but also will look good on CVs to say they trust me to be a "buddy" to new hires to help with on-boarding etc), but every Monday it just gets harder and harder to put my mind into the job (which is quite unlike me if you knew me from a work perspective). My line manager asked me during the visa renewal if I needed to go off with stress as she could tell something wasn't right but I refused and got my approval shortly after (which helped), but I don't know if my mind ever fully went back to the job at hand....

I know I'm in no way alone in job struggles and stresses and am pretty lucky with where I am in live. But just feels good to be able to say to people outside of my normal circle "I'm just not feeling this and I don't know how much longer I can continue to do this". Saying it alone just makes it feel like a bit of weight is off my shoulders.

I’m so so sorry. I was going through this a few months back and I made the decision that I’m not going to quit my job without another lined up but I will also be looking. I won’t take any job for the sake of getting out but I also made it clear that those were my intentions ( senior management really did me over on something and it wasn’t my immediate peers or manager who did it they stood up for me), but I just had enough.

Ever since then I feel free. I don’t do a half arsed job or anything like that because I couldn’t be that way, but having made that decision for myself has made me feel ten times better.

I hope you find something better, as I know there is loads of places who will appreciate you and all that you can bring to the table. =)

Sounds like a place not to return to :(

I don’t suffer intolerances but one of my grandmas does and I’ve seen the pain it causes.
