Gorgeous Lyonaria.

And wasn’t your hair pixie length like 10 minutes ago?   :D

Thanks! I am SO much happier. I don't look like a grown out brunette Joan Jett.

Haha. If only it actually grew that fast! Bad haircuts wouldn't matter at all.

I found a new salon who get how to cut my hair, Bad Apple. An American fixed it for me.

The usual. American girl meets British guy. They fall into like, then into love. Then there was the big decision. The American traveled across the pond to join the Brit. And life was never the same again.

Thanks! I like it a lot. I need to wash it today and see what it does on its own.

Our hot water is dead though, thank god for an electric shower.

During our trip back to TX to see HeyJay's side of the family, I purchased a coat (because it does occasionally get chilly in TX). I got myself a US Polo Assn coat from Burlington Coat Factory in Austin.

Since arriving back here and walking around work at lunchtime with it on I've had no end of giggles and sarcastic smiles from other Brits. When I've caught them doing it and I've had words and 'corrected' their sense of false pride and their overt over-entitlement to give me fashion criticism (usually this is done by a brisk Northern invitation to F*CK off).

As a Brit, we are rather bland individuals but we do seem to suffer with what I've come to call the false sense of superiority problem. Possible a hangover from the Victorian era and the class system?

I honestly don't know, but the sense of judgement over appearance is pretty harsh. I wear a mask a lot in public, and others with my condition really should but they won't because of the looks and comments they receive. I always worry about not fitting in because of issues wearing clothes manufactured here, they don't fit properly.

Stereotype, yes, but I find Brits far more "brand aware" than Americans overall.

Lord knows I've upped the value of my wardrobe since moving here.  I have far fewer clothes but they all have a pretty heafty price tag.  Mixed with Primark, of course.   ;D

I think that must very much depend on what part of the country you're in! I don't see any evidence of that at all here... I fit right in!  ;D

I'm sure it does.  And I think most people really mix up their wardrobe - a few nice pieces with some budget pieces mixed in.

But look at people's handbags.  WOW.  People drop some cash on those.  At least where I am they do!

Yeah, I don't think people wear pieces here!  ;)

I used to work for a shopping channel and people would spend any amount of money we asked on any handbag that had a designer label.  Of course, those outrageously expensive bags were made in the same factory by Chinese prisoners as the fake ones.

Anytime we put a handbag on air, people threw money at us.  Still, we went out of business because of sheer management incompetence.

We have a guy in the office who makes £19,500 a year who drives a Porsche.  Late model, nice model....

I cannot count the number of women who make below £20k, yet have a Mulberry bag (about £1k each).
