I would argue the postage cost - they sent the wrong size!

What I was going to do was cancel the order, because I believe they will refund postage costs then. But the returns form has no option to 'cancel', even though their website says you can do it.

From their website:

Quote
If your order has already been sent out, you may still cancel your order if you change your mind, and to do so, simply return your order to our online returns centre within 28 calendar days of your receipt of purchase marking the returns code on your dispatch note as "C" cancelled. Otherwise, you should visit our Returns & Refunds page.

Provided you have notified us on the dispatch note that you wish to cancel your order, and the return also meets the terms stated on our Returns & Refunds page, you will be entitled to a full refund including delivery charges if applicable

However, the only options on the returns note are:
A = Exchange required
B = Product not required
C = Item is faulty
D = Product was not ordered

Oh, and also, I called the local store this morning at about 9:05 am, because their website states they open at 9am... only to be told that they don't open until 9:30 am and to call back later. But why did they even answer the phone if they weren't open yet? They literally said: "House of Fraser Lincoln, how can I help you?"

At this point, I'm just done with them :(. I'm too tired to be dealing with this at the moment (I only got about 5 hours sleep a night all last week, and i've been up since 4 am this morning, even though it's my day off).

My current client is having a trip for the entire company for 3 days in a big city in Spain. Considering that I just about went on a murderous rampage 3 hours into the last away day, I have had to refuse.  I just can't pretend to be happy about work for 3 days straight.

Seriously, it's an employee meeting and I am not an employee.  IR35 says No.

Do none of their employees have families or lives outside work? Wow.

Yes, a large fraction of the people aren't going for that reason.  One could argue that unfairly targets women who have kids, or men with family obligations.

More work hell:
It was announced yesterday that all the work we do will be "pair" programming.  That means half my day will be spent looking over someone's shoulder at a laptop screen whose text is set at extra small.  I won't be able to see sh*t or will have to beg the person to increase their text size to a ridiculous level.

This contract might be coming to an end pretty soon.

If they were inviting families as well, I could understand it but I imagine they won't have a great turnout if they aren't inviting families for that very reason..

It's very helpful for skills transfer and training, but not great on the regular. Code reviews make me much happier, but pair programming can quickly improve the way you think about a problem. And annoy the hell out of the senior people tasked with it.

All I’m going to say is that I cannot wait for this house purchase and sale to be over. And I’m done being helpful and nice as our buyers have taken total advantage. No more being nice and letting them on the property. They can return to the property once they own it. Totally had enough.
