Do Brits know Donald Duck?
« on: December 06, 2010, 03:22:45 AM »
Dont think I've ever seen him in cartoons/ pop culture over here. I have a large stuffed Donald toy that I am thinking of using as a secret Santa gift. But not if the kid will be clueless!

I grew up with Donald Duck (and all the Disney gang) here in the UK :) - books, toys, cartoons, videos, TV shows, posters, stickers... everything :). My granddad and dad even used to do Donald Duck impressions for us when we were kids (my brother can do them too, but I never managed to make the right sound :P)..

Awesome thanks. My LO is only 4 months, so I really haven't paid attention to children's stuff up until now. Good to know! I will use it for the gift.

I see this all the time....

Do you think they pay license fees to Disney?
I just hope that more people will ignore the fatalism of the argument that we are beyond repair. We are not beyond repair. We are never beyond repair. - AOC

That being said, this is one of the greatest British inventions ever....

Don't know what it's made of but I love it...

I am certain Disney is totally aware and fully accepting of that usage. :)

Funnily enough, we were at Costco yesterday and some old bloke from the car parked next to ours started doing a Donald Duck impression to make my son laugh.

Mickey Mouse Clubhouse is on Playhouse Disney.  Sometimes the classics are on Disney Cinemagic (but we don't pay for movie channels).   ;)
