I'm a Hershey's loving girl and proud of it!   :)   Cadbury is fine, smooth and creamy, but Hershey's is what I grew up on and it's what I miss.  And if you think it tastes like waxy vomit then.....   ???

I'm the same. I don't get the vomit thing at all. ??? But then, DH likes Hersheys. He didn't like it as much until we went to Hershey, PA to visit a friend, and tasted it fresh from the factory.... Mmm.

I'm really excited about the kisses coming to Asda, and so is he! But the article really irritated me.

Mr A likes Hershey's, but he seems to like American food even more than I do.  I don't think it's very nice chocolate generally, but I like their Symphony bars.  I don't think you can beat Scandinavian chocolate.  British chocolate can't hold a candle to it.  Sorry.

Cadbury always gives me heart burn and tastes sweeter to me, but I only really like Hershey when it is used in Smores or if it has something else in it.

I mean does the quality of the chocolate really matter if it has peanut butter, caramel, pretzels and peanuts in it?

Just chocolate covered pretzels might be different and a bar with just chocolate is different still, but it is just totally what you are used to.

I think Hershey has lost some appeal since they went to a plastic wrapper!   :)

I was just thinking yesterday I wanted to make peanut butter Kiss cookies for the office for our international Christmas party. One year I made them with Rolos... not quite the same effect.

Yeah! I agree with the plastic wrapper comment! I had a British friend ask for a bar last time I went home and I was disappointed.

I'm not a big fan of Hershey's chocolate, but I do love peanut butter blossoms!  I just brought back from the states to have over Christmas since I knew I wouldn't be able to them here.

almost as tasty as M&Ms...

I think though US and UK chocolate taste quite different- US chocolate is sometimes sickly sweet (like a Nestle's Crunch bar or Snickers- Yuck!!), and UK chocolate is more creamy ..

I wonder if Hersey's kisses in the UK will be with UK style chocolate

I can't eat Hershey's anymore - definitely tastes waxy and not as nice and creamy as Cadbury's.  Be willing to try them though.  If they're any good I could recreate one of my childhood Christmas traditions - making a kisses tree out of a styrofoam cone covered in foil with wrapped kisses "glued" on with really thick confectioner's sugar icing.

Aye thats the thing lots of "American" food items that come here to the UK taste very very differant than they do in the US.
That is because they are made for the European market which has a very differant palate than us merricans.
We want the flavour we grew up with. European made american food tastes horrid to me.
Like i said in my last post.
I am sure the kisses will taste differant
Oreos do, M n M's do, reeses pb cups do too. They only time they taste the same is if they are imported from the US and in that case they cost many more ££ :)
Ohh for the record I do like American Hersey kisses  ;D

I thought Oreo's were made differently here in the UK...A few British friends had to bring US ones back for their daughter who won't touch the ones here.
and this is way to long to read: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Oreo

Hersheys stuff tastes the same to me. But not oreos. They don't go soggy when dipped in milk either, they stay crunchy! It's just wrong.  :P

This made me crave a piece of chocolate and then I remembered Mrs. R gave me a bunch of Celebrations!  [smiley=angel.gif]
