The link is to a United Kingdom Department of Health website...not an NHS site, it is applicable in ALL portions of the UK.

OK, this is possibly a stupid question, but will the information from the link that WebyJ posted be valid in Scotland as well?  I know it's technically a separate health system, and I think the entitlement is the same, but I'm just wondering if taking that particular print-out in would make much of an impression north of the border, or if there's a page somewhere more specific to NHS Scotland?

"OVERSEAS VISITORS’ LIABILITY TO PAY CHARGES FOR NHS CARE AND SERVICES
A GUIDE FOR HEALTHCARE PROVIDERS IN SCOTLAND"

newcomer link: http://www.sehd.scot.nhs.uk/mels/CEL2010_09.pdf [nonactive]

There are a number of NHS Scotland guidance leaflets for students, workers etc. but nothing that directly details the entitlements of a spouse/fiancé.

It is also worth noting that PALS has no offices north of the border and may only be able to offer limited advice on dealing with the specifics of Scottish Health boards.
