Hi Gibby Gab. I don't have any advice for you that hasn't already been given, but I just wanted to say that you are in my thoughts. I hope everything works out for you.

Wow Gibby, biggest hugs and thoughts to you.  I hope you've been able to seek some help through CAB or Shelter or any of the other links provided.
Best of luck with everything!!!

Thoughts are with you and your DH, Gibby.  I was homeless with my ex and 4 children in 2009.  Although we were still in the US, we were in Texas (which can be like a foreign country to some).  Not sure what your situation is/was, but ours was black mold in my condo that forced our move.  I have been there, and I know how scary it is.

I second the poster that suggested local churches.  Even if you're not religious, there's help to be found there.  My friend/co-worker got us hooked up with her church and they paid for our first 6 weeks in an extended stay America hotel room (not easy with a pre-teen boy and 3 toddlers, but it was a roof), which got us somewhere to stay.  I paid the rent there afterwards until my ex and the two boys moved back to CA with her family and I found a shelter program for single mothers and their children.  3 months there and I reunified with my father in Colorado and ended up moving back here almost a year ago and things have done a total 360 for us.

I'm not a religious person, but found (for me) that prayer was very helpful, as was journaling and blogging.  I was also in school at the time.  I worked 40 hours a week and took 9 units at our local community college.  It was hard, but I did it.

I sure hope it works out for you!!  [smiley=hug.gif]

Thanks for all your well wishes guys. I've been kinda lurking on this forum not updating since I have no good news to update with and I'm embarassed that it's been so long and loads of problems still hang over my head. I feel like such a failure.

On the plus side, I've managed to work some things out and we will have a place to live. So I'm lucky on that front. I've also managed to work some things out with my university for the time being and may even get through this next semester (financially). Then I'd only have a year left and since I've scraped by for so many, I think I'll be able to scrape by on the last year as well. I've become an expert in hanging in there and taking things one day at a time.

TwinMumUKBound that sounds like such an awful situation that you went through and I'm so glad things are better for you now.

I'm glad you are doing a bit better, GibbyGab, and still hanging in there. It sounds like you have had a really rough time, but hopefully things will continue to improve for you. You shouldn't be embarrassed at all, everyone has to go through hard times sooner or later. Good luck to you.
