I've found at ASDA in Tamworth, they supply this 'Made in Vermont' Maple Syrup, can't remember what it's called though! Tastes Delicious!

Selfridges sells Aunt Jemima, imported of course for the lowly sum of around £7.50 per bottle!

I've seen Canadian maple syrup on the shelf at Sainsbury's...but again it's very expensive, around £4.50 for the small jug-like glass bottles.

Closest and best priced I've found is in Golder's Green at the Yarden supermarket, they've got, I believe it's Osem maple syrup.  It's hard to find if you don't speak Hebrew, as the label has the word "Maple" written in Hebrew (transliterated, not the actual Hebrew word for maple).  It's in an orange bottle and has a picture of pancakes on the label, goes for around £1.75

I've been looking for maple syrup in Morrissons when we've gone shopping. I have yet to find it, but I'm probably just not looking in the right place. One of these days I'm sure I'll find it  ;)

Look in the baking section where they keep the treacle and golden syrup.  That's where my Tesco keeps it. ;)

Just dropping by to mention that if you're ever on the A1 north of Peterborough, there's a 60's vintage 'American' style diner, and the pancakes are SUPER.

It's the closest you can get to IHOP this side of the pond.

Thanks for the tip! I'll have a look there on our next shopping trip :)

just calling attention to the comment that someone made that they sell American style syrup at Costco.  I've seen big bottles of it there for a good price.  I sometimes get pancake mix there when I go for my Skippy Super Chunk fix. :)

mikeoverthepond -  Thanks for posting the link to American Soda! :)

Cadenza - I have heard Costco mentioned so many times here on the board. How do you get a membership? Do you have to have credit to apply?

You can only get a Costco membership in the UK if you belong to an organisation that has an agreement with them.  So, I work for a University and we have an agreement.

You can get one in the US and use your US membership card here.

There are lots of threads on membership, but you can also get one if you have a business or have someone add you if you know anyone with membership. No credit check is required.

Actually, Costco has relaxed their rules a bit.

My membership ran out last November, and as I was walking in the mall before last Christmas, Costco had set up a table with a sign that said, "COSTCO MEMBERSHIP FOR INDIVIDUALS".

We have a business membership there, but they were offering the memberships for individuals just a little while ago. Might be worth checking out.

I originally joined as an individual under Transpondia.  I didn't have the impression that it was a highly controlled process.

I will probably get a corporate membership this year because they won't sell Alka Seltzer to individuals.

Good to know they loosened up.  I got a membership through work, but I guess I didn't look into it too much since I didn't have a car before then.  :)
