As for the health benefits of Jerusalem artichokes (paperback)

That was meant as a joke! I couldn't resist!  ;D

I'm glad you liked your presents!

Aww, I wish I had mine, but it's lovely seeing everyone else open theirs! :)

I don't have mine either, yet, but definitely looking forward to seeing what everyone else got!  It looks like it'll be a bit of an extended holiday party.

I opened my present this morning - a box of Cadbury's Heroes and the Planet Earth series on DVD... thank you, ChillyWilly :) (it was from you, right? I don't want to thank the wrong person :P).

Is it really bad that I've already eaten several of the Heroes chocolates?  ::)  :P

I knew it was a joke!  Every good package has a gag gift too!  Thanks again.  :)

I don't have mine yet, but I am loving seeing all the gifts, food, and drinks. I especially like the earrings from Marlespo!

I'll have a mince pie and a cup of cocoa please!
When I was 5 years old, my mother always told me that happiness was the key to life. When I went to school, they asked me what I wanted to be when I grew up. I wrote down ‘happy’. They told me I didn’t understand the assignment, and I told them they didn’t understand life. ~ John Lennon

Here you go!

It's nearly 5pm here, so I think it's time to break out the hard stuff. Winter Pimm's, anyone?

And perhaps some smoked salmon vol-au-vents to go with it?

That would be me, barbara_g. :) I'll be sending your second package after Christmas, most likely...I have a horrible plague right now so I don't want to risk sending that along as well!

I opened mine yesterday, on mistake, and was shocked when I went to post and there wasn't a thread! Oops!

I got a really soft sparkly silvery scarf and glove set, 3 pairs of sparkly aquamarine earrings, a set of fruity bath fizzes, and a bunch of little white chocolate Reeses Peanut Butter Cups which I explained to my fiance that he wouldn't like. Honest*.  Thank you very much, Teletabby!

* he, of course, insisted on having one anyway and started off saying, "interesting". He followed that up by saying they were "not entirely disgusting" and that the white chocolate might not be enough to balance the peanut butter-esk filling. But by the time he finished it he was saying they are quite good. I was so close to having them all to myself!

I also got a fantastic cookbook!  :D

I am terrible at getting pics posted but it's called Culinaria Southeast Asia and it's just amazing! Not just recipes but history and pictures. I don't know who my Secret Santa is but a huge thank you for choosing a perfect gift!  :D
