I made baby food for my DD!  I threw everything in the blender - even pasta (when she was older- 9-10 months).  Squash and sweet potatos are the easiest, because they have the perfect texture straight from the oven.  This is a good link that I referred to frequently:

Have fun!

OK so I seem to be the lazy mom. I never made my own baby food till I moved here. My American born sons were weaned on jars of Gerber. It was just so easy to pop open a jar. And because we were a military family the cost of the baby food was very cheap at the military exchange. When I had my first son here I was shocked to see the cost of jarred baby food! And not nearly the selection we have in the USA. I just paid 74p for a lousy jar of applesauce for Jack. And even the baby cereals are very expensive. Nearly two pounds for a box of baby rice! I used to get a box of Gerber mixed for around a dollar!
I have four little boys and find it such a hassle to make my own baby food although I realize its probably best.
