Cryptic football chart thingie
« on: January 01, 2011, 11:00:31 AM »
I am not much of football fan, but it bothers me that I can't figure out how the premier league ranking chart works. Where do the points in the far right column come from? I have tried numerous mathematical computations but nothing works....

You mean the PTS column like in this chart?

I believe it's "points" like in the NHL (hockey).  You get so many points for a win, and so many for a tie.  Like you, I only casually follow football in the UK, so that's about as detailed as I get.  :)

I believe it is two points for a win and one for a draw

Out of curiosity I looked it up, and it's 3 points for a win and 1 for a tie.
