FUN! I love Mardi Gras! Are you going to New Orleans, or elsewhere in Louisiana?
The in-laws are in the heart of Arcadiana, so we'll be in deepest, darkest, swampiest Cajun country for Mardi Gras. The festivals are nearly as large in scale as New Orleans, but less touristy. Some of the local traditions (that I've only heard about, but have been invited to this time) sound quite barmy.
@Phatbeetle:
DOWN to Fife. Boy oh boy, you sure are north! DH is desperate to see Scotland, so we've got a Highlands roadtrip on our radar for some time before the winter snows set in.
It's a good job I've got a new holiday year starting in April, lol. I can see my allowance being eaten up just in chauffeuring DH around the things he's always wanted to see. Thankfully I managed to get my request in early on the Royal Wedding "11 days off for the price of 3", so we'll be going somewhere in April, maybe that would be a good time to visit the Highlands?
