Are you in London and Free on this Friday afternoon?
« on: January 05, 2011, 05:57:02 PM »
The BBC are looking for some Americans to attend a showing of "The Kings Speech" in Chelsea on Friday afternoon, and be willing to share your comments.

PM me if you are available and interested, and I will give you the contact email address!

I assume by afternoon you mean before 5:30pm... Otherwise I'd love to go!

You are right.  The movie is at noon. If I didn't have to work, I would love to do this!

Damn! I'll be at work. :( I really wanted to see this, too.

(I'm always annoyed when the good "we'll pay you cash for your opinions" market research sessions are right smack in the middle of the workday, too! Like they only want the opinions of students and the unemployed!)

My work schedule's flexible, so I probably could go, but it'd probably be a bit of a stretch. :(

I'll be there! Thanks Karrit.

I'm trying to think how I'll answer if I'm asked about what I think of the Royal Family. Interviews of Americans before the showing will be part of BBC World documentary, of what America thinks of the Royal Family.

So what do Americans think?

So, how did it go?  I went to see the movie on Saturday and absolutely loved it.  Did anyone get to share their thoughts?

Hi Karrit

It was an amazing experience! It wasn't just a little blurb, we were a feature! They filmed us "pretend" watching the movie ahead of time (they couldn't film during the movie), filmed us leaving our seats, and filmed for quite some time interviewing us in the lobby. It is to go out Wednesday the 12th from what they anticipated. It should be about a 6 minute piece on BBC America. There were only 5 of us and we all spoke to answer a few questions. Two of us were there from UK Yankee!

Thanks so much! It was a great afternoon and a wonderful free movie as well.
