I am, but not in Scotland
Down in LondonTAWN
I'm hopefully wearing a gigantic 50s dress with a coloured petticoat as I am a 50s dress fanatic, I just haven't found the perfect one yet, but it will probably be from Whirling Turban or a very lovely tea length Justin Alexander if I can get it in time (I'm dropping dress sizes at the moment so there's not point ordering just yet). We don't want anything fussy so no morning suits or matching groomsmen, the boy will be in an early 60s suit, probably vintage and converses. No wedding colours, it's structured eclectic
I'm making boutonnieres from vintage pieces and lego men (we're both lego addicts), I was going to get a felt or button bouquet but might now do real flowers (I can't stand silk flowers), dried lavender from my garden and bubbles instead of confetti.
We're nerds and I'm an amateur confectioner so our favours are wooden block puzzles and very neatly packaged macaroons, with hand stamped tags.
I'm having 45 guests which is fantastically small, but being quite lavish with them (well as much as I can afford
).
Ceremony is taking place at the Old Marylebone Town Hall, Champagne Red London Bus will pick everyone after the ceremony for a tour around town (as most people are not from London), then we're having the reception at the Churchill Cabinet War Rooms, Champagne and canapes on arrival, the museum will shut and we'll have it to ourselves so everyone can explore then dinner and dancing, my friend has a brilliant wedding band, she dresses up like Mia from Pulp Fiction and does mowtown/jazz/50s/60s right up to modern hits and her voice is FANTASTIC.
Cupcake tower with custom London themed icing for the cake and then it's all over and the boy and I will be married - YAY!
Fun, silliness, happiness is the order of the day
