Currently hating the mail system...

I sent a small "grandma package" to the states on December 11, just some sweets and a sticker book, and it still hasn't arrived.   

yeah my mom sent us a package the end of Nov and it was "postponed in customs" for 2.5 weeks.

My sister sent us one around Dec 10, it still has not arrived.

I think the postal system is suffering and is still trying to catch up. My parents sent us a package on the 30th November and it didn't arrive until the 24th December. It also got hit with a customs charge and customs had the package for like a week before contacting us.

I sent a gift to my BIL in Spain on 11 December and he just received it today. We'd all given up and decided it was lost, so I'm just pleased it arrived at all!

I think letters are getting through OK and in good time as my mom received her birthday card in time.  Hope my dad gets his in time.

I just got a Christmas card from the States a few days ago.  It was sent at the same time as another friend of mine's card (sent from the same family) who lives 20 minutes from here.  She received her card three weeks ago.  I still can't figure that one out--why two cards sent at the exact same time to almost the same place would have a three week difference in delivery time.

Strange.  We received a card just before Christmas from within the UK which looked like it had a giant bite taken out of it and then it was placed inside a plastic bag.

Perhaps they were put into different sacks - one sack made the last plane to arrive before the freeze, the other sack didn't.

Indeed, I was waiting on a few things before I left on holiday-and now I'm hoping that they're sitting in my flat for when I get back, otherwise, I will be furious!

I ordered DH's Christmas present on the 6th of December, and it didn't get to his parent's house until this past Wednesday or Thursday. Yeah, not the greatest Christmas of all time.   I STILL  haven't had my card from my aunts in Chicago. When they phoned on Christmas Eve, they were shocked that I hadn't got it yet, because I'd gotten a card sent round the same time from some other family members who live just 5 minutes away from them. I know our main mail centre's been transferred to another town, which has messed up the mail system in our town to begin with, but, this is just insane. Grr!  

We seem to be getting our 'local' UK post at the regular expected intervals now (DH's bank statement & the items we've won off eBay in the past few days have shown up in normal time), but still nothing from the US other than 1 item (a smallish box) that was sent by my sister just before Christmas arrived just before new year 10 calendar days total shipping time. But still no sign of DD's present from my brother or any cards that my family sent...I'm not sure if they'll ever show. 

I sent a package to my Dad in Chicago on the 11th of Dec.  Hasn't arrived yet.   

He got his package yesterday.  Yay!!!!!!
