There are no cheap cigarettes in the UK because of the taxes on them. Cheapest way to smoke if you want to do it is switch to rollies.

Rolling takes practice, I've been rolling for a few months and they still come out wonky half the time. If you can still smoke it, who cares. ;) The savings is worth it. I seriously spend a quarter of what I used to and smoke half as many, rolling tobacco is "better for you" as it has less added chemicals, and it goes out if you set it down so it isn't wasted. Also, you might smoke less if you have to roll them. Now that I smoke rollies, I dislike the tailor made cigarettes and I don't have a smokers cough. It took a few brands of tobacco to find the right one for me, Benson & Hedges Gold.

Rolling tip, don't try to put too much tobacco in there, make sure it's evenly dispersed in the paper and don't spend too long rolling as it wrinkles the paper.

I almost cried when I saw the cig prices here in the UK compared to the US, I am returning to the US in a week, but when I am coming back to the UK again I may quit, because of the high prices on smokes, plus when I purchased some nicorette for the plane, I found that it was much cheaper than trying to use quitting smoking aids in the US. Plus my fiance HATES the fact I smoke....I haven't found smokes cheaper than 50 quid a carton here (like 80 USD!) and I smoke pall malls...
My big move to Scotland-June 28th, 2011!
