As far as the LandsEnd stuff, there's a landsend.co.uk so you can get all the same stuff here if you don't want to give up suitcase space for it. They still use US sizes; it's really no change.
But it must be cheaper in the States (especially if there's a sale on  ;D)?

I'm sure it is!

A friend in the States has told me about the LL Bean policy where they will replace certain products when they wear out.  For what it's worth, she's gotten her favorite pair of slippers replaced.  I think she's going for new duck boots soon.

It might not be your style, but I thought I'd mention it.
...the whole damn thing will turn
and return redefined, rearranged, rearranged...

Yes, I was contemplating returning the duck boots (must be about 15 years old). DS took back a rain jacket to LLB that had worn badly (probably about the same age) and they gave him credit to a new version.

I know it is their policy, but I feel like returning a pair of boots after 15 years of use is slightly abusing the good will of the company.

I mean how long can you really expect a pair of boots to last?  On the other hand they could change the policy.

I guess I'm conflicted about it.

Yeah, I know. My son is working for Eddie Bauer and they have a similar policy, which he says is abused frequently (like people buying some ancient jeans with EB label in Goodwill and then wanting to exchange them for new) but they always have to honor the policy.
If my boots were just worn down at heel I wouldn't consider it but they are worn on the inside lining. I wouldn't mind if they could just mend that but think you have to go to Freeport for that.

Yeah.  Bah!  I guess I buy more there because of the policy.

I need to ask my sister to bring over some cupcake tins when she visits as the ones here seem a lot more shallow in depth

If you have a Home Bargains store around, I found nifty cupcake tins there for cheap the other day.  They were the right depth and also had a raised plastic lid with a handle, so you can put cupcakes in and transport them when decorated without fear of them getting messed up.  I was so tempted to get them, but couldn't justify it as I'm perfectly happy with my silicone cupcake tins (which I also bought here, by the way).
