Scotland long term parking
« on: January 22, 2011, 11:57:51 PM »
Our friends are visiting from USA this year and we are going on a trip to celebrate our "Medicare" birthdays (65).

We are doing a 9-day Rail Tour of the highlands and islands starting in Edinburgh and ending at a different hotel in Edinburgh.

We are driving up to Edinburgh because we want to take in Yorkshire on our way back down to the south coast.

Does anyone have any suggestions for a safe, reasonably priced place to park our car whilst we are railing it around Scotland?

Lucky you!  I hope you're going to Glencoe. It's my favorite spot in Scotland.

Found this online.  http://www.yourparkingspace.co.uk/edinburgh-parking-spaces-and-garages-to-rent.html

You could also try booking a long term parking space at one of the airports in Scotland, that way you know it's secure.

Just checked Edinburgh airport Long Stay carpark (BAA) and it came up with £45 for a 9 day stay & Considering that for that same time length I've paid about £90 for Heathrow, that's pretty darn good.

Thanks for the links.  I've checked them out and both look promising.  I'll report back which I've used and how it went.
Thanks again, I can always count on this website for quick answers to my questions.
