« on: January 25, 2011, 12:55:42 PM »
I just found out that we're having a baby. This will be my first and I just turned 43.  Would love to hear your experiences.  It is all so new to me.  Thanks!  :)

Congrats!

I'm not over 40, but will be 39 in September, so getting close!  Our first is due in April!

Congrats Sheri!  That's fabulous news - you must be so excited!  ;D

No advice though - I've no children, I'll be 47 this summer & if it hasn't happened yet, I don't think it's gonna.  Lol!  :P

I'm 40 now with 2 under the age of 4-1/2.

I highly recommend Kaz Cooke's The Rough Guide to Pregnancy and Birth. Love, love, love that book.
When I was 5 years old, my mother always told me that happiness was the key to life. When I went to school, they asked me what I wanted to be when I grew up. I wrote down ‘happy’. They told me I didn’t understand the assignment, and I told them they didn’t understand life. ~ John Lennon

I was 38 when I had my son, now 4.  My husband and I would like another, so if we're lucky, I'd be 43 upon a baby's arrival!!  So, I'll let you know if I join the club!!

In the meantime, MANY CONGRATULATIONS!!!! :)

Congratulations!

I was 42 when I had my second (unexpected!) pregnancy.  I don't recall (it was 9 years ago now) feeling any different about the experience.  I did develop gestational diabetes (which I gather is more likely in older mothers) but managed to control it with diet - which may be why I weighed less after the pregnancy than I did beforehand!!

Don't fret - it'll be fine!!

Congrats!!! I'm 39 and I'm about 9 weeks pregnant.

No advice really but it might help to make a topic on what baby items are needed and which are a waste of money!
