Flights via Dublin are frequently the cheapest that I find, from Chicago.  That's why the whole issue with the CTA is so frustrating.  :-\\\\

I fly from Dublin often, even Delta/AA/US Airways are usually cheaper especially near Christmas, the taxes are apparently much much lower in the ROI compared to the UK. As long as you aren't entering for the first time on a visa, it could possibly save a lot of money. I saved £350 flying from Dublin to Phoenix on Delta (instead of leaving from Glasgow) at Christmas, though by time I got to Dublin, stayed in a hotel and ate, and flew bac to Britain from Dublin I probably didn't save a lot but felt I got more for my money and had an adventure!
