Pets onboard
« on: February 02, 2011, 11:21:27 AM »
Just found out that you can take a small dog like a Chihuahua onboard with you when you fly with Delta....

You have to pay for it and it counts as your 1 piece of cabin luggage..and it's first come first serve...

It's $200.00 one way for flights out of the US.....

Didn't think animals were allowed in the cabin of planes at all...

This is just for domestic flights, right? My dad and stepmother take their cat with them EVERYWHERE. They live half the time in Louisiana and half the time in California and he goes in the cabin with them on their flights every year.

No it's for International travel as well.

When we were on our way back from Venice a woman had a very small dog that was waiting at our water taxi stop and she was taking the dog in the cabin with her..They were flying back to Seattle from Venice. It was going via some stop in the East and their onward flight was with Delta as well.

Your pet can travel with you in the cabin for a one-way fee of 125 USD/CAD* (to be collected at check-in) for travel within U.S./Canada, U.S. Virgin Islands, and Puerto Rico (200 USD/CAD/EUR* for travel outside the U.S., excluding Brazil where the fee is 75 USD/CAD/EUR*).

Just for anyone who is planning to bring their dog/cat with them from the US to the UK, this does not apply for travel to the UK.

Delta will not accept any live animals as checked or carry-on baggage to the United Kingdom. However Delta will accept pets (dogs, cats & ferrets) as cargo to the U.K. under the U.K. Pet Travel Scheme. Read more for more information on U.K Pets.

Oh thanks for clarifying...cause it was in and out of Venice that these people were flying..I just thought it animals couldn't fly in cabins regardless..
