Ahhh, you have to give it to the Great Lakes region for being able to do that. I really missed the speedy clean-up this year after the days of chaos due to an inch of snow! It actually made me consider moving back to Ohio for a while.
Oh Elle!!!! Don't say such things!! LOL. Ohio has many wonderful reasons to be here...beautiful nature parks and preserves, a rich history, many pro and amateur sports teams and sports venues for us regulars to enjoy, culture and art exhibits.....noo, I'm not biased, lol. But missing Ohio because we clean up after mother nature?? heehee, that just sounded so different I had to giggle a bit

This winter has been especially long, with very cold temperatures and quite a bit of precipitation. First snowfall in my area was 01 December. Since then we have seen bits of the grass here and there only one one occasion where typically we spend the majority of winter without a full cover of precip. Right now I have about 4-6 inches of solid ice on my drive that has destroyed two professional grade snow-blowing machines

and a crust of ice on my lawn that is so thick the poor deer that live about can't break through it to forage for food. Thus they're eating all my small pines!!! I feel bad for the little guys, so I won't fuss too much on that one.
We've had 4 separate weather systems in a month that brought us what I've termed SNAIN (snow that looks like rain...it's not light and fluffy so it falls hard and straight-lined like rain...but when it hits the ground it is white, certainly sticks, and has a propensity to become ice in an instant). There have been more ER and emergency clinic visits for broken bones and sprains from people falling on ice this month than there were the entire year of 2011 at our local hospital

I'll take rainy, foggy, blustery, chilly and dreary for quite a while over this SNAIN and tundra...but right now please hand me my passport and a mai tai, I need a holiday somewhere warm and tropical!!
