Who should I be looking for to get advice on the FBAR? As in, what job title should I google? And would it matter if they were in the UK or the US (it might be cheaper to get someone in the US)?

I would consider sending a PM to Sara Smiles or Guya (unlike others, they do not solicit on this site). Alternatively, contact Liz Zitzow at Britishamericantax. Give full details of your situation. If they think they may be able to help, or know of someone who can help, they will come back to you. Give them some time, they may be very busy right now. They can also give you an idea of fees you would (rightfully) pay for any assistance, if it were needed. You can proceed from there if you wish.

In line with the post from BostonDiner, I would prefer to contact someone in the UK who may be more understanding of the full implications of your situation.

There are obviously other well qualified individuals/firms in both the US and UK, but this may be somewhere for you, in your particular circumstances, to start. It's only my opinion.

Thank you, I'll look into those options. And if anyone else has options or even similar experiences to share, please do!
