Ok so I don't know if there's a thread for this, but thought I would start it.

What are your best finds in the UK? Something you cant live without and cant get back in the states and/or something that you've found here that reminds you of home"! Anything.

Ok so for me, I grew up in Vegas and I have an enormous sweet tooth. But in Vegas and Omaha, where I also lived, the only candy you get is what you find at WalMart, convenience store, etc. So of course I gained 5 pounds when I got to Winchester and discovered the candy shoppe and bakery. It seems like bakeries are a dime a dozen here (unlike where I've grown up and lived). So I have gotten to LOVE flapjacks (don't know how I EVER lived without them) and if we go into city center, I HAVE to buy a half pound of candy. Lol. And no I don't have kids, so it's allll mine!

I've also discovered Gourmet Burger Kitchen which is awesome and very comparable, albeit a little expensive, to US burger joints. And last but not least, for those of you who miss Mexican food.... Marks and Spencer has a fajita kit that is to die for. And very very much Mexican tasting.

On the other hand.... I TOTALLY miss Coldstone. England would make a killing if they opened one here.
There are two kinds of people.  People who say what they want, and people who DO what they want. Which one will you be?

I modified a recipe I'd heard about when I went to a Barenaked Ladies concert.  Ed was saying onstage he'd been to Cold Stone earlier that day and enjoyed sweet cream with kitkats in.  I added the white choc chips.

I can finally have small corn tortillas and habanero hot sauce like I'm used to in Southern California! Their prices are great and they delivered very quickly!

I've lived in the UK/Ireland for 4.5 years and I didn't know what it was either. I had to google it.  :-\\\\

It's a Northern thing! I was born in the South and never knew of it's existence until I started going to Liverpool.

It never existed where I grew up, if I wanted to buy some now, in London I'd probably have to get it delivered, I've never seen it in a store.
