Tennessee to Durham!
« on: February 22, 2011, 01:25:51 AM »
I posted an intro a couple of years ago, hoping for Bournemouth, but a lot has changed since then. :) I graduate in the spring, and have accepted my offer to Durham University at St.Chad's college. I've heard all about the reputation, but it offers a lot academically and stereotypes are usually overplayed.

I live in Tennessee right now, just southeast of Nashville, and I will be graduating with a BS in Anthropology/Archaeology. School is about all I do, so I can't flesh this intro out anymore. XD Sorry.

Hi and welcome...
My daughter is just about to finish at Durham University-- Josephine Butler College. She has absolutely LOVED her 3 years there. She almost didn't go to Durham due to hearing other's thoughts on people there-- she is so glad she did....she loves it. I hope your time there is as enjoyable- I know I will miss having an excuse to visit, it is a lovely city.

Thank you so much! I've heard of Durham's reputation, but stereotypes are often over-generalizations. Plus, it has a great program for what I'm going for. ;) I just realized that I'm halfway through my final semester and can't wait!

From what I've seen, Durham is very beautiful, and I think I'd love the historic area. :)

I had the pleasure of staying in Durham each week for business for about a year. The city is absolutely beautiful and picturesque. I LOVED it and think of it often. You're very lucky to be going there to study. Good luck to you. :)
