LIVING IN LIVERPOOL
« on: February 28, 2011, 11:52:09 AM »
Hello All.. Just found out about your site, and its nice to see more Americans hanging around.. I'm orginally from New York City, and I was living in Atlanta, GA for 15 years. I just moved to Liverpool, back in December. Its been quite a ride.. My wife is a British Citizen, and most of her family all live in Liverpool... I am surrounded by family, but none understands what it means to go to a Super Bowl Party, or to get ready for Fantasy Baseball... anywhoooooo - Im glad to respond to your topics and discussions, and I hope to make some FRIENDS ( LOL - mates) and enjoy some American talk !

Hello and Welcome!

I know what you mean about the Super Bowl Party, I stayed up late this year to watch it here and found myself craving cheesy bean dip and hot wings. Meanwhile my hubby sat there looking glassy eyed and made comments on why "Football" is better than "Football" :D

Where in Liverpool are you? We live close to the city center. How are you liking it so far?
We stole countries with the cunning use of flags. Just sail around the world and stick a flag in. "I claim India for Britain!" They're going "You can't claim us, we live here! Five hundred million of us!" "Do you have a flag …? "What? We don't need a flag, this is our home, you bastards" "No flag, No Country, You can't have one! Those are the rules... that I just made up!...and I'm backing it up with this gun, that was lent to me from the National Rifle Association."

Ha! Good luck, and let me know if you turn up anything. I'm from Northern Cali- Live in the Dingle now. I'm not a huge fan of mexican food- however, I've been craving Fajitas like crazy. Will have to just live with packet fajitas :(

There is a taco bell but it is a bit of a hike http://www.tacobelluk.co.uk/
I will say if you want some good salsa order from here - I got the chili stuff but haven't tried it but the salsa is amazing!

Hi & welcome to UKY!

Gah, superbowl parties.  At least the American Football goes down better than baseball and most people (of a certain generation and older) know NFL teams by city and can hold a conversation with you about it.   ;)

Must just  be the time of year, I just went and bought all this mexican stuff for this week and have been talking about taco bell for a month now. I get salsa from my sister in the states and make it with the chopped tomatoes. My husband(English) loves it and I am making taco salads for dinner(tea) tonight. You know the one with the edible bowl? Yummmmm.

Aw!! Taco salad sounds like heaven right now! ... I feel like this thread has been hijacked by mexican food.

Thanks, went to the ASDA in Aintree and they had a large section of mexican food (sorry to go back to that) and I even got guacamole in a jar, Why are the jars of jalepenos so small and so expensive? I can eat them like candy.
