Splurge. Just threw one out that I always thought of as "new". It was 18 years old...and showing its age.

Purse/handbag, etc.

Save, big time. My personal limit for purses is about $25 but less is good. I've never gotten into the whole Coach, etc rage but I've considered springing for a unique handmade handbag from Etsy occasionally. Never pulled the trigger, though.

Splurge-- I don't buy them often but find cheap ones don't fit me right at at all.

I haven't been following this thread so apologies if I choose a topic already done---

It used to be save as I only got trims once every two years or so (or more!) and my sister did it (she's a stylist with The Hair Cuttery in the US).  In more recent years it's splurge (don't think there is any such thing as an inexpensive hair stylist in the UK anyway!) as I've been getting cuts with long layers put in, etc. a bit more often.

That reminds me, I'm hating my hair lately and really need to make an appointment.

You're invited to a spring / summer wedding and it seems you have "nothing to wear" so you've decided to get something new.  Save or splurge?

Splurge. I'd get a new dress or splash out for some new shoes, or accessories for an existing dress I have.

Save. I think you can get some good bottles of expensive wine if you know what to look for.

We can't afford to splurge, so it's save, save, save with a working holiday every year.  Or camping.  :-\\\\

Splurge. Seems to last longer and I'm to lazy to change polish frequently.

Jeans?

Jeans?

Depends on your definition of save, my jeans normally costa round £40 which is save to me, but I've decided to treat myself to a serious pair of jeans as a treat when I'm at goal weight, maybe some Sass & Bide or a pair by True Religion or MiH, J brand or 7 for all Mankind I think what I'll do is go to a jeans boutique and get fitted for a pair.

Going out for a meal?

Splurge. We don't go out for meals very often so when we do we get what we want and don't pinch pennies.
