Goldfish crackers!
« on: March 10, 2011, 12:36:03 AM »
Maybe this isn't new to some, but I bought goldfish crackers yesterday at ASDA--the actual Pepperidge Farms ones.  The name was different.  They called the Finz, but they were the same.  They had the regular ones, but I bought some flavour boost ones that were extra cheesy and even better!  I took a bag to a get together with some girlfriends and their kids.  The toddlers all went nuts over the goldfish! :)

I know, I was surprised at the name too.

I found them in the biscuit aisle--not the crisp aisle.  They were down at the very end with the crackers for cheese and such.

When I first moved over here (2003), Finz were in all the supermarkets. But then they disappeared. So it looks as though they're back!  :)

OMG...thanks for this!  DD's birthday party is next weekend and she will flip a lid if I can find some of these for her (her favorite snack EVER!).

Smitten Kitchen just posted a whole wheat goldfish cracker recipe last week, and I passed it over to my (also expat) neighbour, who got so excited she ordered some tiny fish cookie cutters for me, too! :) The recipe looks fairly, easy, too. I was never a mad goldfish fanatatic, but I might give these a go when the cutter arrives.

I saw that too!!  :D I was going to make them over the weekend, but I just never got around to it.  Though, I was just going to cut them with a knife or a regular cookie cutter.  Totally jealous of the mini fish ones!  :)

They had a bunch of Pepperidge Farms cookies too.  I resisted the urge, but it took some work.

They didn't have them at my Asda, but I will keep a lookout.  They did have pickles, with no sugar in the cooler.  I have yet to try them.

I used to be able to buy Pepperidge Farm cookies all over the place too - Tesco, Morrison's, etc., - but then, like the Finz, they disappeared. However, I saw some at Waitrose in Bath last week. I hope this is the beginning of a Pepperidge Farm trend!
