I'm very glad I wasn't there.

Oh, I don't know.  When the second guy got sent off it looked for a moment like there might be a riot and I thought that'd be the kind of English experience I could tell the folks back in the USA about to reinforce their stereotypes.   :)

my DH and I have season tix for the Leicester City FC. I absolutely love love love going to watch some footy ;) also helps that going to the games was how my husband and got to know each other before we actually started dating :) oh, and the Walkers Stadium serves these chicken balti pies that I can't get enough of (washed down with some tasty Singha beer, naturally)!

The combined aroma of cigars, aftershave and lager...  I love that about football stadiums.   :)
Not so crazy about the smell of certain sections...  pot, urine, stupidity.   :(

I played football as a kid but never had a team to support.  DF is a huge Arsenal fan.  I’ve been to two games and they were so much fun!  It helps that they won both times!  I actually get all the games live on my regular cable channel, I watch every week!

I won't be there as I'm in the states now but I HATE derby matches.  Much much too stressful.   :(

This - especially as we live walking distance to Bramall Lane (less then 10 mins)
The derbys of late, havent been as bad as they used to be - well at least on this side of town. The first one I experienced in 2006, buses were diverted from West Street and riot police (with horses) were out in full force. All the bars on the road were closed as well, except for one. Though this seems to be more the exception than the rule. I guess police presence is stronger when they believe things are going to kick off.

Ive only ever been to two matches (WEDNESDAY!) but both were because of partners work and he won box seats with lunch. We'd like to go to more, but it requires planning that my OH and I are too lazy to do, so we just dont go.
