Moving to Crawley this Summer
« on: March 18, 2011, 01:29:50 AM »
Hello all,

I'll be moving to Crawley for work in the next couple months with my wife and 2 young girls (2 years and 2 weeks). I'll be visiting in a couple weeks to look for a place for us to let for the time. I hear Crawley is a pretty safe place, which definitely helps my peace of mind.

We'll be in country for 6-12 months, but I'm not yet sure what kind of visa my company will secure for me. I also know nothing about NHS, but I think the type of visa I/we get will affect how we do doctors, pediatrics, prescriptions, etc. My wife has some medical issues and I'm concerned about make sure she gets her medications. She takes hydrocodone for chronic back pain (degenerative disk) and levothyroxine for hypothyroidism. Reading some of the posts makes me nervous about UK vs US prescriptions. [smiley=confused.gif]

We'll also be looking for friends for both ourselves and our daughters, so please PM me for any info on play groups :)

Thank you all in advance for any advice/words of wisdom/moral support!

-David

Hey David,

Welcome to the site. I made the move to London a couple years ago, and the forum proved invaluable with that. Best of luck with the transition!
