Does anyone know about how to go about watching the Macy's Thanksgiving Day parade in the UK?! Last school year I had my parents get on skype and turn on the TV, and turn the volume up very loud. It was decent, but not anywhere near as good as I would've hoped. Do any of you have any ideas?! I love my parade!!!

Not really sure, as Ive given up hope on it (and its kinda weird watching it at 3pm instead of 10am and no smell of food cooking) but think its shown on Hulu...

Speaking of Hulu, thanks to Neil Gaiman (of all people!) Ive found TunnelBear which is a free vpn site that lets you access US TV for free. No spam or any spyware.

I checked out Tunnel Bear. Its fab the free version only allows a limited amouI nt. So upgraded to the giant bear for $4.99 a month. Well worth it for unlimited US tv/radio.
Thank  you sooo much for the suggestion. :)

also if youre on twitter, you can tweet them the following:
I want 1 GB of free data, please @thetunnelbear
And they automatically add a gig for free as long as you tweet them once a month and the promo is still running.

I don't know if anyone has posted this, but it works (at least it did the two times I tried it).  You can only get network channels for free, but you can pay extra for DVR/cable.  You're meant to be a US citizen living abroad to  use it:

Just followed the instruction for the Modify Headers thing, and it didn't work. I tried putting my American girlfriend's IP address in to make sure; it still didn't work. Any ideas?

I'm still using Tunnel Bear on both my laptop and android.. Thing i love about it is allows you to watch us tv if you are in the uk and uk tv if you are in the US.. Still say its the best $4.99 a month i spend . If you are in the UK it just takes it out in pounds from your debit card each month.

I usually just google the show I want to watch which brings up multiple links, or look on Youtube.

I've spent the last 4 years in Malaysia and have watched a LOT of shows on my laptop!

I use bittorrent (utorrent client) and this site: http://www.dailytvtorrents.org/ to record and watch Breaking Bad, Mad Men, Boardwalk Empire, Revenge, Hell's Kitchen, etc. It's sort of like having tivo but free :)

as I type the kids are watching PBS via ustvnow  ;D  worked great for the Macy's parade and watching PBS but with the time difference not good for primetime shows, for that we use something called free cable that pulls shows off the network websites

Bittorrents are illegal most of the time as they are rips.  I am a little worried after the napster delima.  ustvnow is only online, or via a slingbox.  Please refer to my post earlier.  I used them as well, and same delima.  free cable is presently being sued for copyright infringement.

We have a box hubby set up so we get UStvnow on the tv, not a slingbox.  I honestly have no clue about how it works LOL.

FYI for anyone who'd like to be able to watch Hulu, etc.  There's a plug-in called Media Hint, available for Firefox/Chrome, that manages this completely automatically.  Just install the plug-in and it works.  No having to change headers or switch DNS.  No more 'we're sorry, but this Daily Show clip is only available in the U.S.'  Very smooth.
