Does UKC husband have until June 15th as well?
« on: April 04, 2011, 11:33:06 AM »
Hi all,
My husband (UKC) and I moved over to England on Nov. 1, 2010, so we both made money in the States last year. I've already filed and mailed my taxes over (we usually file separately...not the smartest, but it's too late now) and I'm working on finishing his up. I know that as an ex-pat, I have until June 15th to file, but does this apply to my husband as well, since we are both living outside of the States now?
I'm really hoping so, because we could use a few more months before we have to pay...
Any knowledge about this would be super helpful! Thank you!

Is your husband filing a dual status return or does he have a green card?

The deadlines for filing are covered in the guide to the 1040 or 104NR under the "when to file" sections.

Don't forget the FBARs need to reach the Treasury by 30 June and cannot be extended.
