My mother who will be visiting from the states and I are heading down to London on that Friday to see my friend from the states. (and going to see the Wizard of Oz at the London Palladium the following day) I will be avoiding the crowds as much as possible but will watch the wedding on tv. I bought a t-shirt today for the occasion which says, "Thanks for the day off" ... lolz!

Will be working-it wouldn't have been a paid bank holiday day for us, so we all opted to work it. Oh well! At least we still get May Day off, and another bank holiday the following Monday in May. I only have a passing interest in the wedding. If they actually have a lasting marriage, that's more important, I think.

Of course!  ;D

Heh - it would have been kind of neat if one of UKY's own were attending the actual event...ya never know, maybe someone will turn up who is.

And I know you would go if you could manage an invitation somehow, in a new hat bought just for the occasion.

I thought I would catch the highlights later in the day but my 24year old daughter insists we are getting up to watch it live on television.  Coverage begins at 1am here on the west coast.  [smiley=sleeping2.gif]  She's talked me into making scones for our breakfast and pasties for later on that day.  DH mailed us some tacky royal wedding souvenirs, daughter is SO excited.  lol

I just got invited to a Royal Wedding Party.  Again, I'm not fussed by the wedding, but parties are good fun  ;D

Apparently Scotland really is a lot less enthusiastic about this.  :P

By coincidence, it's the Barnsley beer festival that weekend so it looks like Friday will be spent there!

So far, it seems that our poll voters right now are just about split between those who are 'into' the Royal Wedding in some way, and those who aren't really bothered (apart from the coolio extra bank holiday bit of it) - I think with the 'not bothered' edging out the 'intos', but only just.  :)

I'm watching it on tv!  :)  There are also several street parties I could go to including one village that's broadcasting it on a big screen, but I think I'll stay home because my husband and kids are not into watching.  I might have a couple of my friends over to watch it with me if they can tolerate our tiny television!

Nice! Great way to spend a day off, drinking beer at a beer festival!
