Watering plants with water from condenser dryer
« on: April 18, 2011, 03:37:39 PM »
Has anyone ever used the water collected in a condenser dryer for watering plants?

If so, did the plants survive and thrive  :) or gasp and gag on soap residue?  :P

If we have a hot summer with hose pipe bans, I'd like to use the dryer water for my outdoor plants. :)

Shouldn't have any issues, but rotate which plants get watered with grey water from the condenser.

I'm guessing this also applies to the water from a dehumidifier?

Yup...any water from things like the shower, the clothes washer, the dish water can be used as "grey water" for watering all sorts of plants. Some people prefer not to use it on their food plants, but it's usually not a big deal.. you really just want to make sure that you use regular water between using grey water though because esp. in containers soil can get mineral buildup that can adversely effect the growth. But 95% of the time it's just fine.
