I walked down to:  Forever by Ben Harper

I love this song and Ben Harper! If we didn't have such a traditional church wedding I just might have done this one!

Same here!  :)

Our first dance together, the dj screwed up and we somehow ended up with the Celine Dion theme song from Titanic. Niiiiiiiice.  ::) (but funny 12+ years later)

Aw- I loved our first dance.. Ben Folds "The Luckiest" It's not a traditional first dance song, but it's a song that when I hear it- I tear up every time. All this talk of weddings has me breaking out my wedding album. :D
We stole countries with the cunning use of flags. Just sail around the world and stick a flag in. "I claim India for Britain!" They're going "You can't claim us, we live here! Five hundred million of us!" "Do you have a flag …? "What? We don't need a flag, this is our home, you bastards" "No flag, No Country, You can't have one! Those are the rules... that I just made up!...and I'm backing it up with this gun, that was lent to me from the National Rifle Association."

I will be walking down to The Dambusters March (it's my favourite war film, which DF introduced me to) and we'll walk out together to Caledonia by Dougie Maclean. Both will be played by a string quartet.  ;D

I want Caledonia as well for the first waltz.  We're having a bagpiper for the ceremony and as long as it's not "Scotland the Brave" I don't much care what he plays.

I walked down the aisle to Cat Power's cover of "Sea of Love" (and then two weeks later I was shocked to discover it was my cousin's first dance song!).

Our first dance was a fast-paced, freeform tango to Xploding Plastix "Treat Me Mean I Need The Reputation". :D

One of my bands (rock) plays this- its a great song for everyone to sing along to, ala rock ballad style  ;) - though I suppose they won't sing along to a string quartet version!  :P

We walked down the aisle to this, as well!

We played Cat Power's I Found a Reason and Neil Young's Harvest Moon during the registry signing and we walked out to Johnny Cash's Happiness is You.

I don't even have a boyfriend, but I want to walk down the aisle to this song by City and Colour: City and Colour - The Girl (Official Video).

The wedding party will walk to the slow part, and I'll walk to the faster part.

I walked down the aisle to "Move Now With Measured Sound" (Thomas Campion, 1567-1620) sung by a madrigal choir that one of my bridesmaids sings in.

To walk out, we discovered that the first few bars of the traditional Wedding March can be played to merge seamlessly into the Indiana Jones theme tune (I'm an archaeologist).  The organist was only too happy to oblige and there were waves of laughter as people caught on  :)

I'm late to the party here, but I figured this thread will continue to be read by soon-to-be-brides! So here's my 2 cents...

I "walked down the aisle" to Hoppipolla by Sigur Ros. Sigur Ros is my favorite band of all time. Hoppipolla seemed so fitting because of its ethereal beauty and because, in a weird way, the translated lyrics just seemed so perfect and summed up our LDR quite well. The song (and music video) fill me with insane amounts of joy and hearing it play while walking towards the love of my life was just...unreal.

I'm getting all choked up just thinking about it!

link to the song -

oh oh, and I almost forgot - I REALLY wanted to walk out to that horrrrrible song "Friday" by Rebecca Black because A. We were married on Friday and B. I thought it'd be hilarious. I think everyone involved was quite happy that I didn't get my wish on that one.  :D
