This may be a REALLY silly question.  Are coupons available in the UK?  How and where do you get them?  Also, do grocery stores put out weekly adds like they do in the US?

Hi Dragon,

Well my answer to that yes, we do have coupons but in my experience not to the extent that you have in the US. You can find coupons in various magazines and newspapers now and again, but where I live I have yet to find a paper dedicated to coupons like my MiL receives in the US! She lives in Minnesota and had loads of coupons and received a weekly paper just dedicated to coupons and offers.

I know in my area we get the occasional flyer for places like Aldi that has special offers on that week. Supermarkets often give out coupons aswell and Sainsbury's seem to produce loads of receipts for you after purchasing your groceries with coupons off special offers for your next visit. You just think the machine has printing out a receipt when 'oop' out pops another one! ;D

I have never really been a coupon user so maybe I have just not noticed it as much here and someone will come along with more info for you. All I remember is whenenever I visited hubby in the US, the arrival of the weekly ad and coupon paper caused much excitement for his mother  ;D

I know some people don't like Tesco, but if you have a Club Card you'll get a few coupons in the post every month. As well as coupons for specific items (based on what you've bought in the past), you get vouchers for £ amounts. I save mine up for Christmas and get a lot off my big shopping!  :)

Sainsburys sends me coupons and as of late theyve been printing at the register as well. Costco also sends them to me, but my local one usually scans them for me, so never bring em.

You may want to browse sites like moneysavingexpert or moneysupermarket as they generally list deals to sites to print them off.

Ive found if you complain you also sent vouchers (Coke sent me £5 worth recently when a bottle I bought tasted off)

Yeap. Your US membership is good here and will transfer over. Best part? Is that they start the UK membership from the moment you join not from your US joining date. I was able to get another 6 months on mine :D

Check there for your nearest warehouse..

Our trip to Costco is my little bit of home.. Theyre set up very similiar to US stores (just UK sized) and even have US shopping carts!

They should send you coupons every few weeks - that's how you spend your points. Last week I got a voucher for £4 off my shopping, plus vouchers for extra points when I bought certain things, and my points balance was re-set back to zero again (the £4 voucher was for the 400 points I already had).

ksand is right - you ought to be getting coupons in the post! Perhaps they don't have the right address for you? You can log on to Tesco using your clubcard number and check that the details are all correct.

newcomer link: http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/forumdisplay.php?f=38 [nonactive] is one of the most reliable places for coupons in the UK, a forum on consumer journalist Martin Lewis's 'Moneysavingexpert' site. The ' Sticky: Updated Printable Money off Coupons & Policies Thread' at the top of this forum section has lists of many coupons as well as links to other sites with coupons.
For voucher codes to be use online, the 'Find Voucher Codes' search box on the right hand side of newcomer link: http://www.hotukdeals.com/ [nonactive] is a reliable and regularly-updated place.

I got a 75p off coupon from Dove a few weeks back for grabbing a sample of a new mens deodorant for my OH, but thats the first Ive seen of it.

Theres more buy one get ones here - which can work out to be a buy, especially when the large size bottles are part of the offer.
