Window screens again at Lidl
« on: April 21, 2011, 09:19:18 PM »
I know this comes up every year at this time, but the stick on screen windows are back at Lidl.  I bought some, 2.59 for two, and they are up and working.

Thank goodness because I bet this summer will be a hot one and the mosquitoes are terrible already.

Of course, I think this every year and the heat only lasts a week.  But for less than £3.00, I'm happy!

Is this a Lidl in/around Cambridge? 'Cause I can be there tomorrow.

I think all the Lidl's around Cambridge are outside the city.

I was just looking at these on their site. I wish they had big ones for my back garden sliding glass door.

St. Neots is the closest.  I drove out there yesterday because I was sick of it!  SICK!  :D

I couldn't find them on their website. Do you just have to go and look for them at the store?? What do these things look like?

I don't know how they can live without screens. After we had 2 bees fly into the house, I demanded my husband buy one for the patio! Lol. I wish we had one of those stores in Winchester, I would be there in a heartbeat.

You can sometimes buy large rolls of screen material for doors and tack it to the top.

Thanks for the Lidl tip - wish we had one near us. There's an Aldi across the road :P.

It is in a small box, about the size of a thick paperback book.

For what it's worth it looks like you can get a window/door screeen with velcro attachment for less than a fiver on amazon:

I ordered one to check it out. I'll let you guys know how it goes.

Definitely let us know how it works! I bought something similar a couple weeks ago but it wasn't Velcro and it didn't come with instructions. After it falling down a few times, I finally came up with a way of keeping it from not falling down. It included a LOT of double sided and electrical tape. Haha. It looks ghetto but does its job!  ;D
