San Francisco to London with a stop in Bristol
« on: April 24, 2011, 07:38:59 PM »
Well Happy Easter everyone from California! Well I suppose I should start off saying my name is Vivienne, I'm 17 (turned 17 on February 1st) and I am moving to England. I'm actually already a UK citizen although I've never been there, but I was born in the US to a UK mum and Israeli Dad, which gives me citizenship to all three countries even though I've never been to Israel or the UK.
Anyway, my dad was born and raised in Israel but came to the US for school and basically never left. He's a doctor, a pediatric surgeon, but he has to go back to Israel for various reasons. My mum is also a doctor, a general surgeon, and lived in the US with the intent of staying until she and my dad got a divorce when I was two. My brothers and I stayed in the US while Mum went back to England and visited pretty much every long break we had. So despite the distance we're pretty close.
So after I finish my Junior year I'll be heading off to Bristol where she lives but she was offered a job in London so then we'll be moving there in July. I was pretty upset about the move at first but I'm actually pretty excited now  ;D So is my twin brother but my younger brother hasn't really adjusted to the idea yet...
Anyway so that's the story. I'm nervous but happy and can't wait to get to England  :D

Awww welcome to UKY!  Consider it a blessing you have citizenship and can come and go as you please and you can always go back to the US as well.

Welcome and I hope this forum helps you find answers!  Happy Easter!

Welcome! Guess you won't be needing the visa section of this forum you lucky kids you!  ;)

So...will you be doing A-levels? How does that work for kids like you coming over in what would be your senior year? Might want to ask your mum.

Other than that I don't doubt you'll have a blast!  :D
We met in Tokyo through friends when we both lived in Japan.

Last year we moved to Thailand, got our first apartment together, got jobs with the same employer (!), didn't end up killing each other, got married, and decided to move to the UK to settle down.

London, here we come!
