Visiting stateside and need travel (health) insurance
« on: June 12, 2011, 09:06:27 PM »
Hi lads and ladies. We are visiting family stateside in sept and want to get really good reliable travel insurance with a good health plan. My friend joining use will be 20 weeks pregnant and we don't want to be worried about the "that ifs" while we enjoy our holiday "home". Hoping to get a good plan for our two week trip. Can anyone recommend good travel insurance? Thanks!

I recently traveled home to the US at 21-23 weeks pregnant and got a good deal with STA.  I went for the budget under 35 policy which wasn't lush but did cover pregnancy up to a certain week.  They had more expensive policies available with better coverage.  Luckily I didn't need to use it so I can't comment on that aspect.

There are several travel insurance companies that offer health insurance for travel to the US but I would just make sure that they cover pregnancy because some of them consider it to be a pre-existing condition.

Have a good trip!
