She was on facebook, because she changed her profile photo - But she totally ignored my post on her homepage wall.

I think she may have understood the subtext.

What did you actually post on her wall? (I must have missed something.)

After she had posted on his wall, and he simply removed it, I posted on HER wall, "Hi Steph! We are fine! Thanx for asking! How was the honeymoon?"

(Because she was just like: Gimmie my money… No “Hello” no “How are you” or anything!)

And on MY wall, “Good manners sometimes means simply putting up with other people's bad manners.” - H. Jackson Brown, Jr. (American best selling writer, author of Life's Little Instruction Book)

AND…

“Friends and good manners will carry you where money won't go."

Not in those words... She posted on his WALL: "Please deposit the outstanding money you owe for Orchard Barn into my account today."

No "hello" or anything - she returned from honeymoon, and posted that.

AFTER Matty spoke to her husband (he also just sent a text saying "Steph said to put the money in her account" - also without a HI, or How are you? Just = MONEY.) and when Matty responded with hi how was the honeymoon, how are you... and said we did not have it right now but we will get it to them asap, and the husband told Steph... So, she goes and does that anyway... 6 hours later, in the middle of the night, on his wall.

Yeah, and although what I said/did was not *clearly* aggressive, it seems to have gotten my message across.

She has NO MANNERS at all.

She is a lot of things, but she is NOT stupid. So, she picked up on it.

And, I doubt she would dare to mess with me as she clearly thinks she can do with my husband... Because she KNOWS I am fed up with her, and will TOTALLY speak my mind.

I am also NOT stupid. But, I am also not ill mannered.

Unless... You REALLY, REALLY PUSH ME... And she is Right There... She knows it.

I would LOVE to tell her off.

I must admit... I secretly want her to do just ONE MORE THING.

JUST ONE.

So, I can be like: Right, OK, game on PUTA...

And then get VERY NEW YORK CITY on her little small town stuck-up ass!!!!!!

You can take the girl outta the ghetto... She can get herself into an American Ivy college... She can live in a lovely English seaside town...

As a Spanish-speaker, I just spit on the desk when I read that one. I'm laughing so hard now.  You tell her, girl!  I so want you to call her "puta" to see if she knows what it means.

This is the single most fascinating thread I have read on this forum.  Thank you for sharing your amazingly horrid story with us!!!

I would have a VERY hard time giving this woman a single penny.  From what I have heard, I do not feel that you even owe for the three nights.  If she didn't bother telling you the price until AFTER the 6 week cancellation limit had passed then that is HER mistake.  Your husband's provisional booking a year ago does not at all hold you responsible in my mind.  To me, an "official" transaction for goods and services only takes place when the price is known and agreed upon by both parties.  This woman booked the whole barn lot deal package thingy without consulting and finalizing with her guests.  That is a risk she took upon herself and an oversight she should have to pay for.  I, personally, would not feel duty-bound to pay her based solely on my husband saying a year ago that he would probably end up coming for three nights.  Maybe that makes me low-class, but this woman would NOT be receiving a bank deposit from me.  I would feel horribly awkward in your situation if my husband wanted to remain friends with this man, so that clearly complicates things.  However, the whole Hitler thing is the nail in the coffin for me.  No way would she get a single cent from me.  And the friend vomitting on your window?? yeesh.  I bet they used the room when you weren't there anyway.

In your shoes, my dream reaction would be to make a very public post on her facebook wall informing her that a 100 pound donation has been made in her honor to [some organization dedicated to supporting immigrants' rights and/or multiculuralism in general or any other decent thing to which she would be opposed].  Then include a snarky remark about how 100 pounds will only go so far when there is CLEARLY a lot of work to be done in terms of educating ignorant people, as clearly witnessed at a certain recent event."
