In my spare bedroom, at the back of my kitchen, and in the hallway  ;)

We've got a washer/dryer combo. It does alright for itself, unless I load in too much stuff. Last weekend. I had to put the sheets back in to dry. Probably didn't put it in for a long enough drying cycle. We put the clothes on an airing/drying rack to let them dry a bit more over night/ for a bit longer at room temp. Hence, airing them out.

Well it's hard to tell in pictures because the combos also look the same as just a washer. So if they only include a washer and let's say for arguments sake there's not yard/garden space then where does one dry their clothes? LOL
I dry them in the dryer which is in a cupboard off the kitchen (where the boiler is). We do have seperate dryers and there are quite small ones as well, so unless you really are short on space you should be able to have one

Thanks for this :) I'll keep a positive mind set when looking for a flat/house.
